Leveraging Knowledge Management for Outstanding Internal and External Communications

In an era when information can determine success, most government agencies and organizations still have enormous amounts of valuable data, which too often is hidden, unidentified and unused.

This discussion will focus on how organizations can identify key information already on hand and leverage it into effective communications that can help achieve a surprising number of different business goals.

The discussion will break down knowledge management into two principle categories:
Explicit assets knowledge that can be documented, archived or coded. This typically includes market research, brand data, patents, trademarks, business plans and customer lists.
Tacit knowledge Information that is somewhat intangible and harder to identify. The challenge beyond identification becomes how best to put it to work.

The talk also will include
· Centralizing and expanding intellectual assets
· Facilitating knowledge growth
· Fostering innovation
· Improving customer service
· Growing revenues
· Streamlining operations

Knowledge management no longer needs to be an elusive term that escapes the understanding of business leaders who need it most. It is a valuable tool that can positively impact every aspect of an organization, large and small. Government organizations are not only no exception, they in all likelihood, can benefit most from this important tool.
