Ohios Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC) was established in 2002 under the authority of Governor Taft and the Federal Communications Commission. Since that time, the SIEC, composed of executive leadership from state, county, municipal and township police, fire, EMS and other first response agencies, has worked to improve wireless communications in Ohio. They recently completed Ohios Interoperability Strategic Plan, which is one of the mandates of Presidential Directive #8 for Homeland Security. This presentation will provide a summary of the State Strategic Plan and provide ideas for improving interoperability at all levels.
