This session will start with an overview of what is meant by Advanced Computer Forensics and how it relates to Advanced Hacking, Advanced Encryption, Advanced Tracker Hackers and the problems of the present. From there, Mr. Finley will discuss the status of the state of the art forensics technologies, some conclusions and recommendations. Lastly, the session will conclude with a few selected Forensics case studies describing the problems and then the Forensic applied solutions. Some of the more interesting ones of course will be chosen.

Russ is president of Netsoft Technologies, Inc. which is a Information Technologies consulting firm in northern Ohio that specializes in computer Networking and Information Security. He has over 25 years in the telecommunications and computer software consulting, that includes; engineering software design and implementation of Corporate Communication Management Systems, Mainframe systems programming, Applications programming, Client Server programming, Network Management, Management Decision Support Systems. Over the years, he has consulted for a number of fortune 500 companies, and also industry leading medical hospitals where Information systems are required to be up and running 24x7x365 days a year. More recently, Russ has started sharing his learned knowledge of networking and security as a part time instructor at Cleveland State University. He is part of a team that teaches Information Security Management Systems for an accredited certification from CSU.
Russ has a BS degree in Computer Information Sciences from Cleveland State University with graduate work in Systems Optimization Research at the University of Hartford, Harford, Connecticut. He holds Microsoft MCP certifications as well as having been a Microsoft Developer for over 15 years. He is a retired commissioned Officer of the U.S. Army National Guard. And he is a graduate of the US Marine Corp Paris Island and a Viet Nam veteran.
