There’s an old (in IT terms) adage … “On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog.” Unfortunately this extends beyond the Internet into critical areas of security and customer service. How do we really know whom we are serving or letting have access to our physical and logical resources?
The Commonwealth’s Identity Protection and Access Management architecture team has been working to set enterprise direction in these areas, concentrating on interoperability with federal government standards (HSPD-12, FIPS 201, PIV). Great strides have been made and the presentation will cover the current state of the Commonwealth’s IPAM architecture and some of our future directions.
