Grid computing and its sibling utility computing are the next breakthrough in enterprise cost efficiency and customer service. They are forms of distributed computing that involve coordinating and sharing computing, application, data, storage, or network resources across dynamic and geographically dispersed organizations. This session provides an introduction to these technologies and a look at how they might impact government organizations.

Peter Doolan serves as the Vice President of Technology for Oracle Corporation where he has specific responsibilities within the Public Sector industry across North America.

A fourteen year veteran of Oracle Corporation he has performed numerous technology, applications and consulting roles within the company. Peter started with Oracle UK in 1991 as a support engineer assisting customers with mission critical business continuity issues across the world. In 1994 he joined the Oracle UK sales engineering community performing numerous large scale projects within the Telecommunications industry. In 1998 he moved to the United States where he joined the Oracle Applications development organization. After several years assisting customers with Customer Relationship Management business process automation projects he joined the Oracle Public Sector team based in Reston, VA.

He now leads the Oracle Public Sector Technology sales engineering community for North America where he assists Oracle customers align their business requirements to Oracle Technology and Business Applications.
