His satirical columns have been published for over a decade in The Washington Post, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal. One such column, about a fictitious email virus called "Strunkenwhite, that supposedly returned messages until all grammatical errors were corrected, was published by newspapers throughout the world and was widely passed around on the Internet as well. For several years, Mr. Hirschfeld was a contributing writer to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
