As networks have become more complex, so have the exploits that threaten them. Security for these networks has therefore become a game of changing offense and improving defense. In light of these changes effective security is less about point products, and more about implementing layered defenses. Defenses that can interoperate and can also be a seamless part of the networking infrastructure.
This presentation will focus on the following themes:
Taking a layered or 'defense in depth' approach to solve specific security problems like worm propagation, DDoS, and application abuse
Establishing and enforcing security policy for all devices as they enter the network
Reacting to new and unknown threats inside a network utilizing heterogeneous security technologies
