"State and local governments, as well as the private sector, realize the critical need for secure information access, secure data management, secure systems, secure information sharing, regardless of type of technology, network or client. Whether it's Homeland Security, emergency response, patient/client information, public safety information or other confidential interactions the user needs to be sure that the communications will be secure and available where and when required. The speaker will focus on the use of technology to assure data security and safe, secure communication. This will include wireless, lan/wan and other network structures. The speaker will discuss strengths and weaknesses of the various alternatives."

Tom has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors applying technology to solving business issues.
For the past 4 years, he has performed as a consultant in Central Virginia, working with businesses and government clients to implement server-based computing solutions. Some of his recent clients include the VCU Health Systems, CapitalOne, Circuit City, Media General, the Virginia State ABC Board, and the Virginia Department of Taxation. Prior to that he worked for 5 years as a trainer and consultant in silicon Valley for such large firms as PeopleSoft, Chevron, Bank of America, and McKesson. Throughout his career, he has pursued every opportunity to implement centralized computing models to solve business critical application deployment problems.
Tom joined Citrix in August of 2003, and is responsible for Enterprise Accounts in the DC Metro area.
